Into the Fiery Furnace

Watch now: Daniel Movie Preproduction Journal

Pre-Production on our new movie is underway, with The Kooman Brothers on location overseas!

The locations and story are coming together in beautiful ways on our timeless Biblical epic, DANIEL.

In the first of our Preproduction Journals, we talk about Daniel’s identity and name change in Babylon under pagan King Nebuchadnezzar. Plus, we explore a 600-year-old military fort and palace built by the designer of Taj Mahal in New Delhi. Come behind the scenes as the preproduction unfolds.

It’s quite something to consider. Daniel, a young man who Gabriel (yes, the angel) called ‘greatly beloved,’ in Scripture, was renamed by a pagan foreigner when he went to Babylon. But more than just renamed, rather than bearing the identity of his God Elyon (The Most High), Daniel was renamed under Bel…or Ba’al, given the pagan name Belteshazzar.

Daniel’s three friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were also named by the Babylonians to honour pagan deities as well. This attack on their identity is one of the ways we explore the key characters in our film, and their stand for the Truth while under duress physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
